Things You Should Know about Factory Reset

Before applying the 4 techniques to complete a factory reset when you forgot the iPhone screen passcode, it is vital to understand what the procedure actually means.

So, when you factory reset an iPhone, all personal information in the phone is erased, including apps, contacts, email accounts, and settings.

However, you can restore the information from the original backup. Still, if you haven't enabled iPhone backup, then you can not access the contents of the device. For this reason, it is essential to backup your iPhone data regularly. It is pretty simple!

Why You'll Have to Factory Reset Your iPhone if You Forgot Your Passcode?

Method 4 Unlock Your Disabled iPhone via iTunes

iTunes can play and download media files. But it also has a "Restore" function to reset your iPhone, clearing all your data and setting. To use this function, you need to put iPhone into Recovery Mode first.

In case you forget the passcode and wish to reset it, then you can put the iPhone into Recovery Mode using iTunes to complete the task.

  1. A PC(Windows 8 or later with the latest version of iTunes installed) or Mac is necessary to perform this solution

It is quite common among users to forget their passcode. However, the most important thing is understanding how to get around the problem if the iPhone is locked.

Each method I have listed here is fully capable of unlocking the iOS device.

However, the solution that got my attention the most was Mobitrix Lockaway. It took the least amount of time to reset the iPhone and didn't even require me to enter the Apple ID and Password.

Also, I strongly suggest noting down the passcode somewhere safe and enabling the iCloud backup as soon as you access the iPhone again.
